A Travellerspoint blog

Bye everyone!

Just hours left before my long-anticipated trip begins...

For those of you not who have not had to endure many months of my excited bubbling, I have signed up for ten weeks of volunteer work in Costa Rica through Youth Challenge Australia (www.youthchallenge.org.au). In partnership with Reto Juvenil Internaciona, Youth Challenge brings together young people from Canada, Australia and Costa Rica to work on basic community development projects to improve conservation, youth/women's empowerment or infrastucture.

Many project locations are ridiculously remote so the chances of me being able to update this blog regularly are pretty slim... but if you would like to be notified when I do manage to upload something, just click subscribe on the right and follow the prompts-I won't be doing group emails.

Since I set up this blog my itinerary has had to change completely. Because of the deteriorating security situation in Fiji, I am now flying directly to San Fransisco where I will stay with family for a week, then on to Dallas and San Jose. Way home is still via LA and Fiji.

Goodbye everyone and best wishes for the summer!

Love Jess

Goodbye Jessie! I hope you have an amazing time overseas, as i'm sure you will. Don't work too hard in Costa Rica. Can't wait to see you soon in the new year. All the best!
Love,
Andrew
